PERFIN DIES

With the early dies, Sloper took care to ensure that the perfin letters avoided striking Queen Victoria's profile.

Slopers own records detail the order in which perfin machines were made, from which it seems there were two distinctly different styles used. The two types differ in both the size of the letters and in the shape of the '&' symbol.
