Normal Cancellations

The cancellations of Edinburgh illustrate the wide variety of cancellations that can be found for just one city.


The Brunswick Star

One particularly striking cancellation, used only in Edinburgh, was the Brunswick Star. A number of different types exist.



Other cancellations include the experimental "dotted circle" variety, which can be found with various numbers of cuts in the circle.

The above example is an unusual cancel combination in which a roller type cancel has been applied to the stamps but with a seperated duplex cancel applied below.
